Hello everyone! I found the loving kindness exercise enlightening. I totally got into the nature sounds, however, when they added the music to the waves in the backround I found the music distracting and had to work hard to ignore it. Before that however, I found the practice quite Awesome! Interestingly, as I inhaled suffering I saw a wave of black behind my eye lids....When I exhaled health, happines, and well-being I saw a deep beautiful ~purple~ it was very intense and it felt really, really good! When I saw the ~purple~ I really felt like it was working. When the instructions started at times I would be a little startled like someone was lightly waking me from sleep. I have not had great luck with the relaxation practices so far so this expereince was a bit of a surprise. I think it was the nature sounds that pulled me in because this is what I use to meditate normally. Funny thing, kitty, came over during this practice and fell asleep on my feet! Yes I woul recommed this to others.
A mental workout is what I just did. Mental workouts can calm the mind and expand your psychological and spiritual health, of course, this also leads to physical health as well. The research shows this to be true. Taking time each day to expand your mental workout is a great way to foster a good health lifestyle!
I am so very excited about the color visions!
Kelly, it is interesting how you noticed the color variance during the exercise. I am no one to add relevance to such but I would not be surprised if someone were able to elaborate further along the regard. Hmm . . . relevance seems everywhere and I am interested in what this might disclose.
ReplyDeleteWell, it is good to hear someone enjoy the loving-kindness exercise because I did not. Well, I just did not like the fact of inhaling suffering. This goes against anything my mind says health wise. I definitely would rather have taken the suffering with my hands per se and dissipated it into thin air. Hmm . . . I am not an expert when it comes to mental training, but this certainly was not something I was willing to "take on".
Glad to read that you enjoyed the process and incorporated color variance. :)
Great job Kelly! Seeing colors is something very powerful and it shows that you are connecting and experiencing other dimensions of reality. Purple is the color of the crown chakra and it indicates that you are open and receptive to healing and the universe. Seeing colors in your meditations is something that can be further explored as messages that might be coming through for you and are tied to the chakra of the corresponding color. The more you practice, the more vivid your images/messages will become.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best in your healing journey!
John
Hello traci, I can see your perspective. Interesting view really. However, as a mom I am always willing to take on the suffering of my kids. I agree that taking it in hand is a better anology though. Thanks for your point of view.
ReplyDeleteHello John, Yes I have read about the crown chakra and the meanings are also quite fastenating! I often feel connected to and receptive to healing and the universe as you put it. I also often feel connected to others around me, as well as, some that have passed on. Some may call me crazy, however, I like to consider myself as open to the world around me and all of its possibilities. Perhaps, they will have some good messages for me as I better prepare myself for this adverture!
ReplyDeleteKelly as you know I have been having a problem getting my post(response) to show up on the blog board. Please let me know if you can view this response.
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch!
Got it E...!
ReplyDeleteKelly, I relistened to the cd to see if I could relax a bit more and appreciate the portions of color more, and for that matter to allow what colors would join in while I was relaxing to the breath section. Here's how my second listening went. I actually enjoyed opening my thoughts to pay attention to the random colors I had obviously not even noticed before. During the ocean sound with the light music behind it was relaxing, after the woman directed me to follow my breathing whether it is inhaling or exhaling or both, I found my mind emptying, ridding the chatter, and all of a sudden my breathing became a white sheet rippling along with motion of the ocean waves. It was very relaxing and calming. When I first began relaxing, I did notice color as if I were looking at the back of my eyelids, it came in two colors of large spots, black was in the center and green was the outside ring. It was a positive experience and I'm sure tomorrow when I listen to it again, I'll take something totally different from it. I'm going to look for other meditation cd's, do you have any suggestions for me? I enjoyed reading your reaction to how the meditation affected you. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks, for letting me know.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, what's left of it anyway.
Yeah Kelsy, the colors are really cool! I am glad you got to experience them. I do not have any suggestions for you because this type of meditation is also new for me. Not my preferred method.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, my thoughts were going to mirror deLeon's as I too immediately thought of the color purple relating to your seventh chakra aka crown chakra.
ReplyDeleteI personally had trouble with this relaxation exercise because my mind associates the sounds of the beach as too relaxing which caused me to fall asleep. I did not take note till I read your blog that I too would slightly wake-up as the dialog would start up again. Reading your thoughts helped me to review how my mind interpreted the assigned exercise.
Hello Urban, yes sometimes it is the discussion that makes us say "oh ya". It is good to compare notes so to speak!
