Unit 10...Ya Baby!

Hello Everyone!

After reviewing my personal assessments from week three I must admit I do see progress. In week three I set my scale at 9 for my physical assessment and I am going to say I am still at 9. I believe there is always room for improvement and the point is to always stay focused and moving forward which I am. I have been meeting the goals I set by tweaking my diet and extending my training for a century ride on my bicycle. My spiritual assessment in week three was at an 8. I think I have made it to 8 1/2 now. I am working on developing formal meditation skills and this will take time. However, I see improvement. As for my Psyche well I scored an 8 in week 3 and I think I will give myself an 8 1/2 now because I am feeling quite good psychologically at the moment. I am sure it is because I am getting closer and closer to accomplishing my BS in health and wellness and I have the ball in motion for starting my MA in health education. However, we must accept that it is normal to move up and down the scale from day to day as life is always dynamic and never really stable. But this is ok. Change is good. We  have to keep our eyes on the prize (integral health) and continue to move forward.
During this course I have learned new skills. Some of which I really liked others not so much. However, these skills now hold a spot in my tool box for the future. Therefore, giving me more tools for continuing on my own path for integral health and also for helping others find there path. It has been rewarding learning to discover my inner being. Deeper than I have known before. It was also rewarding to discover that I have practiced many of these techniques all of my life without really putting a name on my techniques (yay me). This helps me believe that I truly am on the right path and I have been for a long time. Now, I can move in the direction of integral health with the knowledge of where I am going.

Thanks again to all of you! It has been a pleasure!

It’s great to hear that you had a high score at the beginning and it has gone up (even if just a little). I was the opposite and I hope that before the end of the year I will be where you are on the scale. I have a few issues I need to work out first but I do see a light at the end of my tunnel which is a good thing. I do like that you have found some new skills that will help you even more, that shows me that you continue to improve even though you think highly of your scores. I wish I had a score high enough to be proud of; perhaps some of the exercises in this class will help me get to that point. Good luck in keeping your scores high and it was really great reading your post and discussions. I wish you the best of luck in the future and hopefully we will see each other again in another class.

  3. Kelly, I enjoyed your post and especially liked the 1/2 points added, just showing your positive attitude at best. I also feel one can never really be at a 10, life is too busy and ever changing, a definite scale that is suppose to keep changing up and down, this gives me the greatest hope that if we stay focused with the steps toward integral health then we will always be able to adapt toward the positive spectrum. Good luck to you and your life toward integral health and happiness:) kelsy

  4. Thanks Kelsy, I agree that even though we try to reach a 10 it really is not possible. I think there is always room for improvement. I mean really who is perfect? Not me. Good luck to you as well.

  5. Kelly, I thought I was the only one that increase 1/2 a point in any of the three personal dimensions we assessed almost two months ago. I too am pursuing a degree in health and wellness because I want to have a formal degree in the field I have been working in now for over 10 years. Wishing you much success on your educational path.

  7. Hello Urban, that is a great goal. When reassessing myself I considered that the first assessment was only a few weeks ago. How far can one possibly get in such a short time. Integral health does not come in a blink of an eye, but rather it takes time, energy, intention, commitment, and practice to get there. Thanks.

  9. Hi, Kelly.

Good, honest assessment of your current level of health and your progress towards the goals you set some weeks ago. I am glad to hear you acknowledge that levels of health can fluccuate both up and down over the course of our lives and that it takes dilligance to maintain good health, even once we think we have achieved it.

Good luck to you and keep up the positive attitude!

  10. Kelly,

You have probably one of the most refreshing tones to your writing and I can only imagine that the rest of you follows that trend. I'm sure that wherever you go professionally and socially, those that are blessed enough to meet you will feel your good vibes and wholeness. Its great to read about your improvements! And you are right in that integral health and well-being is a life journey, therefore nothing will be quick, but rather, will take years of practice. Good luck in all that you do!
